A journey through Spain’s personal and collective memories of the Civil War, Francoism and the transition to democracy. Voices, places and gestures reveal the many layers of twentieth-century historical memory.

THE MUSIC

This film began my collaboration with Anna Maria Bofarull, a partnership that continues today. Together with Hammada, it helped me explore the dialogue between director and composer. I wanted the music to carry echoes of early twentieth-century Spain.
